SIBERIA IS THE COLDEST PLACE ON EARTH BUT THAT DIDN'T STOP TAMARA LUNGER AND SIMONE MORO. ON FEBRUARY 11TH 2018 THEY SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE FIRST-EVER WINTER ASCENT OF POBEDA.
Standing 3,003m tall, Gora Pobeda is the highest peak in the Mounts Cerskij Range in Siberia - the world's coldest inhabited region.
The mixed-climbing route to the summit took Tamara and Simone just over seven hours; they covered 27.3km and 3,003m of elevation. And they did it all knowing that if they fell, rescue would be impossible.
